McLeod Ganj is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is known as "Little Lhasa" or "Dhasa" because of its large population of Tibetans. McLeod Ganj has an average elevation of 2,082 m (6,831 feet). It is situated on the Dhauladhar Range.It is a Tibetan establishment where you would love to spend an evening.The major towns near McLeod Ganj include Dharamshala, Palampur, Kangra, Sidhbari, Tatwani, and Machhrial. Other nearby spiritual attractions include Tsuglagkhang complex,Dalai Lama Temple,Tibetan Museum,Chinmaya Tapovan (a Hindu retreat centre), Osho Nisarga (an Osho retreat centre) and Chamunda (a pilgrimage place for Hindus). The trekking route to Triund starts from McLeod Ganj.You can roam around in the market that is full of options that you can buy—funky jewellery, hand-knitted woollens, carpets, shawls, t-shirts and artefacts. There are some awesome restaurents and cafes that serve delicious Chinese, Tibetan and Italian food. If you are looking for a peaceful place to practice yoga, there are some places in the outskirts that offer a serene environment and a lovely view of Kangra Valley and Dhauladhars. McLeod Ganj also is the base for many treks.

9 h 7 min (472.5 km) via NH 44 and NH503 by car and average time taken by bus is approx 12hrs. 94 h (452.6 km) via NH 44 manually.

Air
The nearest airport is Kangra Airport, 15 km from Dharamshala.
Rail
The nearest railway stations on the narrow-gauge Kangra Valley Railway line are at Kangra and Nagrota (about 20 km south of Dharamshala). The nearest railhead (broad gauge) is at Pathankot (85 km).
Bus
Travel by bus is the most common medium of transport used by the people. Mcleod Ganj is about 9km from Dharamshala and around 485km from Delhi. It takes about 10-11 hours of journey to reach Mcleod Ganj from Delhi via a bus, and there is regular service available with more than 4-5 buses plying everyday on the route.

Triund Trek is one of the best beginner treks and most popular Treks in India you must visit and offers mesmerizing snowcapped mountains with breathtaking weather which would trust me blow your mind completely and makes you feel out of the world.
Cost
The average cost of the package is somewhere between 2,000 INR and 5,000 INR. Triund is the most explored yet beautiful place in Mcleodganj Dharamshala. This trek is small and easy – primarily for first-time hikers. One can start from Mcloedganj (9 km) or Dharamkot (7 km ) or Gallu Devi temple (6 km).Me and my friends have done it with 1500 yes 1500 INR only including travel expenses, food, hotel for 2 days. We used public transport mosty and stay in 1 big room in a hotel which was 2 min walk from dalai lama.
